Mag. Aleksandra Podgornik was born in 1970 in Schwenningen am Neckar in Germany. She graduated at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor in 1995 and acquired her Master’s of Economics and Business at the same faculty in 2007. Since she considers lifelong education a necessary and achievable goal, she partakes in continuing education and knowledge expansion. She acquired a certificate as Business Consultant from the International Academy of Business Consulting B.I.T. Schulungscenter in Graz, Austria, in cooperation with the CCIS regional Chamber of Maribor.
Mag. Aleksandra Podgornik has been working in the field of economics for twelve years, mainly in the metal processing and cosmetics industry. When the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Štajerska began operating in 2007, she became its first General Manager. She works on many projects in Podravje, e.g. as a member of the Board of Maribor Development Agency, member of the Board of partners at the Employment Service of Slovenia in the regional offices in Maribor and Ptuj, member of the Provincial Economic-Social Board for Lower Podravje, member of the Programme Board of the regional employment fund Podravje, member of the Statistic Advisory Council for regional statistics and member of the Council at the Museum of the National Fight for Freedom (NOB).
