Rebuilt

Circular and Digital Transformation of the Construction Sector in Central Europe.

Purpose:

The construction sector is one of the largest consumers of resources and contributors to waste and emissions. The ReBuilt project, led by ZAG – Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, brings together 13 partners from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany, as well as 6 associated partners from Slovenia, Hungary, and Germany, working together to advance circular and digital construction, crucial for sustainable development and regional competitiveness.

The project will develop a new educational programme, test technical and digital solutions (including green labelling, end-of-waste status, and green public procurement), and create the first Central European Strategy for Circular and Digital Construction, to be implemented through a network of regional hubs.

ReBuilt will help reduce the environmental impact of the construction sector while promoting more efficient, innovative, and sustainable building practices across Central Europe.

Objectives:

As part of the ReBuilt project, ZAG serves as the national and regional thematic HUB for Slovenia

The Slovenian Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) coordinates the Slovenian hub as well as the network of regional hubs. The hub focuses on the development of circular business models and value chains, and on shaping legal frameworks that enable circular and digital practices in the construction sector.

By engaging stakeholders of the quadruple helix model (state, public authorities, industry, SMEs, and civil society), the Slovenian hub accelerates recommendations and solutions for the transition towards a circular and digital construction sector in Central Europe.
