The acts or policies that an undertaking is required to adopt depend on the activity in which it is engaged. There are, however, a few internal acts that all companies must have.

At Enter Štajerska, we offer legal advice and assistance with:

  • drawing up compulsory internal acts: Act regulating the System of Positions (if you have more than 10 employees), the Policy on Prohibition of Drinking and Working under the Influence of Prohibited Substances, Policy on Prohibition of Sexual and Other Harassment or Abuse in the Workplace,

To work in Slovenia, foreigners must obtain a Single residence and work permit.

Germany

The German market is the most important for Slovenian companies, both in exports and services. When providing services in Germany, there are many special features of German law that Slovenian companies are not aware of. This is especially true for construction, assembly and installation works. Here, we stress the necessary formalities, but individual attention is always important:

 

  • Value added tax – Mehrwertsteuer, which has two rates,
  • income tax to be calculated and paid,
  • certificates and work permits,
  • construction tax exemption certificate – Freistellungsbescheinigung,
  • Soka-Bau social contribution payments exemption certificate – Befreiungschreiben,
  • certificate of eligibility to do business in Germany – EU Bescheinigung,
  • companies sending employees to work in Germany must register them at the Federal Tax Office or customs. If the company also sends third-country nationals, they must have valid visas, which are issued by the German Embassy in Ljubljana,
  • Soka-Bau is the umbrella name of two German parity funds – ULAK and the Supplementary Pension Fund for the Construction Industry.
